My Royal Botanic Garden report focuses on bold, bright colours, contrast and illustration. It reflects the Australian native plants in the Royal Botanic Gardens. The brief required me to create an A4 Annual Report reflecting my style. My moodboard focuses on bold colour, abstract form, and most of all play with my illustrations. I trialled a front cover and spread before commencing my publication to decide if the bright colours would work for my publication. When I travelled through the garden and took photographs in the park I noticed the bright pinks, reds, and beautiful forms of the plants. I used photoshop to edit the photographs then drew over them in Procreate to enhance the plant forms after they had been edited into abstract shapes.
The video is of my drawing process on Procreate. I previously edited and overlayed photos to create a bright spread and then wanted to enhance the forms of each of the plants. This became my double-page spread in the middle of my publication, so I aimed for it to be bright and a feature piece of the report.
